In 1993, the library moved into its own building. Since 2003, the collection has been expanded and information transferred to electronic format through publication acquisitions, increased funding, and additional staff. Currently, our Central Library, which operates entirely electronically, houses six branch libraries: the Turhal, Zile, Niksar, and Erbaa district libraries, and the Theology and Medical Faculty Libraries, all serving our readers.
Our library building is constructed on a 3,470 m² footprint with a 1,509 m² enclosed area and consists of four floors. It has five halls that can accommodate 450 people simultaneously. Additionally, there is an audiovisual hall that can accommodate 40 people at the same time.
The library's resources and services continue to diversify each year. With 163,766 printed books, 486,548 electronic resources, a total of 69 databases (27 of which are subscription-based), an Open Access Information System, an Electronic Thesis Database, rare manuscripts, and the Tokat City Library, our library is among the largest libraries in the region. It serves not only researchers in its own region but also researchers throughout Turkey within the framework of the University Library Cooperation Platform.
All modern library services are available in our library. With sufficient staff and budget, it can provide any resource needed; its expert personnel are always striving to serve you. Our library has always been there for our students and researchers. As an information center where academics can easily find their research and lecture notes through its open access archive, we make a great effort to bring resources not available in our library to you in the most accessible way through interlibrary cooperation.
